A popular Short Pump gym is about to get a whole lot bigger. You might even say it’s on steroids. Richmond Fitness, Incorporated., parent company of American Family Fitness, is nearing completion on a 90,000 square foot facility on the back side of Short Pump Town Center, across from Macy’s. The massive building replaces their current location in the neighboring Downtown Short Pump complex. The old facility is bursting at the seams both inside and out. The gym is overcrowded, and parking is scarce despite a recent lot expansion.
The new American Family Fitness Center will boast two floors of state of the art equipment, huge cardio and free weight rooms, workout/dance studio, full size basketball court, indoor pools complete with a spiral slide, 1/4 mile indoor track, squash/walleyball courts, youth center, full service cafe, and much more.
The new building is almost complete and will open its doors sometime in June.
