Jimmy John’s Opens At Short Pump Station

On Tuesday, the latest addition to the growing list of Short Pump sub shops, Jimmy John’s, opened for business. Located in the Short Pump Station shopping center, this is the first location in the Richmond area for the Illinois-based chain. Foot traffic has been steady in and out of the restaurant, according to several Downtown Short Pump readers.

Jimmy John’s is known for their gourmet subs and sandwiches, prepared very quickly. In fact, the store’s tagline is “Subs So Fast You’ll Freak!” It remains to be seen how the shop will do, considering the close proximity of several other well-established stores including Jersey Mike’s, Subway, and Jason’s Deli.

I will support them as long as I can persuade them to deliver to the other side of Lauderdale at Church. Even though I am die hard Jersey Mike’s…the delivery is very appealing.

Menu is limited, but what they do, they do very well! Lets find a way to support this business as well.

I got a sub and chips at Jimmy John’s on Saturday. I’ve gotta say that the selection isn’t as varied as some other sub shops (let’s not forget Quizno’s in Short Pump), but their use quality ingredients and make the sub insanely fast! Their Jimmy John’s brand of chips were delicious as well! (I also noticed their bagged chips were over 2 ounces, instead of Subway’s chinzy 1 1/4 ounce bags.)

If you’re looking for a fast sub at an affordable price (about $6.50 for an entire combo), or sub delivery (I’ll definitely take advantage of that on a lazy day) then Jimmy John’s is your place. However, if toasted subs or variety is more your thing then you’ll want to check out Jason’s Deli or Quizno’s.
