Two women who died in an intense house fire at 2404 Bridgehaven Terrace last Wednesday may have been victims of identity theft, according to a search warrant obtained by Henrico County police the day of the fire. Police searched an apartment in the 9400 block of West Brightway Circle (near the intersection of Hungary & Springfield Roads) in connection with the fire investigation.
The warrant shows several miscellaneous items were recovered from the apartment, including a personal computer, photos, a DVD, and at least one set of personal documents. It is believed that the tenant may have had a role in the stolen identity of one or both of the women who died in the blaze, but further details have not yet been released.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and the official cause of death of the two residents who died has not been released.
