County To Begin New Pouncey Tract Water Main Project Soon

In a little over a month, Henrico County plans to start work on a new water main project along Pouncey Tract Road. The County has marked off the western side of the road with flags from Twin Hickory Lake Drive to Shady Grove Road. Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) spokeswoman Dawn Eischen says that while this is not a VDOT project, Henrico County has contracted them to do the work. Read more
Who’s Coming Next To West Broad Village: A Tenant Listing

In these tough economic times, it’s not surprising to learn Unicorp’s West Broad Village development might be a little behind schedule. Prospect Homes, one of three home builders on the property, pulled out of their agreement this past summer. Eagle Construction and Ryan Homes remain committed, though progress is slower than first planned. Read more

New Businesses Open At West Broad Village

Two new businesses opened their doors over the past few days in the West Broad Village complex. New-to-Richmond chain Kona Grill, known for its steak and sushi, opened across from Whole Foods Market on Thursday night. Free valet parking was being offered at the time of opening, likely a result of the limited parking availability as construction continues on the other nearby buildings in the mixed-use development. Ukrop’s-owned First Market Bank also opened a branch location on Friday, adjacent to Kona Grill. Read more
9 Short Pump Homes Found To Have Tainted Water

Occupants of 9 houses along Gibsons Landing Drive, off Ridgefield Parkway near the Gleneagles Shopping Center, were told not to drink their tap water on Saturday after reporting the smell of petroleum coming from it. No residents were reported to have been sickened by the water. Henrico County brought in bottled water to all affected houses, as well as flushed the neighborhood’s supply line and cleaned all faucets and toilet tanks in the homes. Read more
County To Hold 2026 Comprehensive Land Use Plan Hearing

The County of Henrico will hold a public meeting tonight to discuss its 2026 Comprehensive Land Use Plan and take more comments from County residents. The Planning Commission has already received more than 600 comments regarding the plan, but they want to get more feedback before sending the plan to the Board of Supervisors for final approval. The last few restaurants to arrive in the Glen Allen area have focused their menus on one thing: Burgers. So when I heard about the latest one I wasn’t particularly eager to check it out. But I couldn’t help but be drawn in by the name: That’s BS (Burgers & Sports). The restaurant name alone is enough to pique a person’s curiosity. Read more
Circuit City Plans To Liquidate All Assets

Circuit City has made an agreement with 4 liquidation firms to sell off its assets. The decision was revealed this morning at in a US Bankruptcy court in downtown Richmond. The deal was made by the retailer’s lawyers and must be approved by the bankruptcy court judge. Governor Kaine Honors 8 Short Pump Schools For Educational Excellence
