In these tough economic times, it’s not surprising to learn Unicorp’s West Broad Village development might be a little behind schedule. Prospect Homes, one of three home builders on the property, pulled out of their agreement this past summer. Eagle Construction and Ryan Homes remain committed, though progress is slower than first planned.
To date, the development has a small number of completed town homes (some occupied with residents), and the clubhouse is currently under construction. Many of the 339 apartments have been completed, and new tenants are expected to move in very soon. The property is still largely a construction zone.
There had been plans for two hotels, though only one is currently under construction. Completion is expected for sometime this spring. Currently, there are no plans for the second hotel, which was to be located near the West Broad Street on-ramp to Interstate 64 East. Below is a list compiled of what’s already opened and what’s coming soon to West Broad Village.
