Bear Sighting Near Short Pump Startles Residents

Manakin Sabot resident David Mugford snapped photos of a black bear outside his home, just a couple miles west of Short Pump. The bear was helping himself to an all-you-can-eat buffet of bird seed from one of Mugford’s backyard bird feeders. Read more


Family Detains Man After Attempted Child Abduction In Innsbrook

Family members and nearby shoppers detained a man over the weekend who attempted to abduct a 4-year-old girl at the Innsbrook Shoppes around 7:00 p.m. Saturday evening. Police say the man attempted to abduct the child as she was getting into a car at the shopping center with two adult family members.
