Local Artist Hosting Drawing Class At Short Pump Coffee House


If you’ve ever wanted to learn to draw, Monday night is your chance. Local artist Paul Steinberg is hosting an ongoing drawing class at Daily Grind Coffee House & Cafe beginning this Monday evening. “If you can sign your name on a piece of paper, you can learn to draw,” Steinberg said.

Swine Flu Cases Confirmed At Two Short Pump Schools


Henrico County Public Schools announced on Thursday that a Deep Run High School student has been diagnosed with H1N1, more commonly known as Swine Flu. Schools in other parts of the county were also affected. The Deep Run case comes on the heels of a recent one at nearby Short Pump Middle School.

Students Donate Pet Oxygen Masks To Henrico Fire Department


A group of caring, community-oriented students at Pocahontas Middle School on Three Chopt Road undertook a project to collect funds to purchase a single pet oxygen mask for Henrico County fire crews a few weeks ago, but that effort expanded into a larger project that raised funds for multiple pet masks.

Police Investigating Weekend Hazmat Scare At Gayton Branch Library


We’re just now learning that the Henrico Police were called to the Gayton Library at Pump & Gayton Roads early Saturday morning. NBC12 reports that a “homemade chemical explosive device” was found. Authorities didn’t take any chances, calling in hazmat crews to investigate the object.

Short Pump Man Faces Indecent Exposure Charges


A local man is facing charges of indecent exposure. 68-year-old David Fuller of the 2100 block of Kelly Ridge Road, in the Copperas Creek neighborhood, allegedly posted ads on websites such as Craigslist seeking female maids and administrative assistants for a supposed business, inviting them to his home.
