Henrico Police have arrested five women suspected of prostitution at a hotel in Western Henrico County. The name of the establishment was not released in order to allow for future stings. The women were contacted via websites like Craigslist and officers arranged to meet them at the hotel, where they were arrested. Read more

The John Rolfe Parkway project caused a short interruption of water service Thursday afternoon for residents and businesses along Church Road between Pump Road and the Lake Loreine subdivision. The interruption happened as crews were relocating an existing water line as part of the new road project. Water service was expected to be fully restored by around 6:00 p.m. Read more

The event is being hosted by the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. The event is free, and because of funding from the sale of pesticides, no taxpayer money will be used. New Local Auto Insurer Chooses Operating Name

Admiral Americas, the U.S. arm of Welsh-based Admiral Insurance, has picked a new name. The firm will do business as Elephant Auto Insurance and has launched a web site. Admiral located its U.S. headquarters in Richmond last March. As of last month, the company has 19 employees and was still growing into its 26,000-square-foot office in The Concourse At Wyndham near Innsbrook. Read more

Following the demise of Circuit City, the book has closed on yet another national retailer based in Short Pump. S&K Famous Brands has shuttered its Short Pump location, next to the headquarters on West Broad Street at Interstate 64. Operations have wound down at the chain’s brick and mortar stores across the country, but some former employees are keeping operations going online. Read more

Three separate thefts over the span of a month are being investigated at the American Family Fitness Center behind Short Pump Town Center. In the incidents, keys were stolen from lockers and wallets were subsequently stolen from vehicles. In one case, a car was moved to another parking lot. Read more
