Daily Grind: Where Everybody Knows Your Name

In the eighties, there was a TV show about a fictional bar, Cheers, where everybody knows your name. It was the welcoming watering hole, a place of friendship and laughter. It had one major drawback, in my opinion, and that was that as a bar, there were limitations as to who could go there. In Short Pump, I have discovered a family friendly version of the popular tavern. In the modern, real-life version, coffee is the beverage of choice. Read more
Henrico Police Searching For Short Pump Purse Snatcher

Henrico Police are searching for a man suspected of stealing purses from women in two separate incidents at stores in Short Pump. The suspect, identified by witnesses as Robert Newcomb, allegedly fled the scene of both crimes in a green Toyota with Virginia plates reading KFA-4894. Read more

A new Chinese buffet has opened in the Short Pump Village shopping center, adjacent to Walmart. Rainbow Buffet is having their grand opening in a 3,000 square foot space at 11424 West Broad Street. The interior can be likened to the upscale quality of the popular Super King Buffet in the Westland shopping center at Broad and Parham. Read more
New Water Project Will Benefit Short Pump & Goochland Residents

The Henrico County Department of Public Utilities is about to take on a new water project along Three Chopt Road that will be a win-win situation for residents of both Short Pump and Goochland County. VDOT Approves Funding To Resurface Interstate 64 In West End

The Virginia Department of Transportation approved $40 million in funds on Tuesday for two paving projects, one of which will resurface Interstate 64 throughout the West End from the Bryan Park Interchange all the way to Parham Road, just a couple miles east of Short Pump. The scope of work is approximately 5.5 miles and both travel directions will be repaved. Read more
Henrico Police Officer Charged In Alcohol-Related Accident

A local law enforcement official is in trouble with the law himself. Henrico County Police officer J.L. Crain was charged with driving under the influence after rear ending another vehicle early Sunday morning. Crain was driving his personal vehicle at the time. Read more
Cafe Caturra Opens At Short Pump Crossing: A Photo Tour

Cafe Caturra has opened its fourth Richmond location in the Short Pump Crossing shopping center, near Ukrop’s. The establishment serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and is known for their fresh coffee, roasted in-house daily, as well as panini sandwiches, specialty soups and hand-tossed salads.
