December 7, 2012 — Brandon J. Hess, former associate principal at Deep Run High School, left the school in the middle of the day yesterday under mysterious circumstances, leaving students asking for more details as to the circumstances of his departure.

Sources say that Hess was a favorite among students. Hess is not saying much right now, but he did post an open letter to the students of DRHS via his Twitter account. In the letter, he writes, “I know you may have felt like I disappeared in the night with no understanding of why I left. Well, quite frankly, I felt the same way. Because I was unable to speak to you, I’d like to make one last tweet and connection.”

The letter goes on to say, “I have completely enjoyed the spirit each one of you delivers to the fabric of the school. Each of you carried a respectful enthusiasm for living, learning and fun.”

The letter closes with, “To all: be certain to stop me when you see me, message me your successes and make me proud.  As you finish out the year be certain to follow the simple ‘if/than’ steps to school success; attendance, behavior, grades.” [sic]

The school district has been reached for comment but hadn’t responded as of press time.

Updates will be posted, as they become available.
