Henrico Police are looking for a suspect after a man was shot in the face in his own kitchen in the Park Meadows subdivision of Twin Hickory late Thursday evening. Police were called to the 4900 block of Park Meadows Lane around 11:00 p.m. and found the 53-year-old victim with a single gunshot wound to the face. Read more

The Children’s Museum of Richmond unveiled plans and renderings of its new Short Pump location on Monday, scheduled to open in June. The organization has leased 15,500 square feet of space at 2200 Old Brick Road in West Broad Village, across from Whole Foods Market to expand their offerings to Far West End children and families. A locally-owned Short Pump cupcake bakery is in the running to be casted in a national television show on Food Network, competing against other cupcake bakeries across America in a show called Cupcake Wars. Townhouse Fire Displaces Two Residents Off Pemberton Road

Henrico Fire crews were called to the 9800 block of Camberwill Court in the Victorian West townhouse complex off Pemberton Road near Interstate 64 around 8:00 p.m. Monday night and discovered flames coming from the roof of the structure. The two residents escaped unharmed. Read more

Mattress King will become the fourth major Henrico-based retailer to cease operations, following Circuit City, LandAmerica and S&K Menswear. The company began liquidating stores a little more than a week ago. Just a block from the Short Pump location, however, a new mattress retailer has moved into the Promenade Shoppes. Read more
Henrico Board Votes To Condemn Properties In North Gayton Road Right-Of-Way

The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control has closed the Short Pump Crossing ABC Store located at 3406 Pump Road for remodeling as of Saturday, February 13. The store will reopen on Monday, March 1 at 10:00 a.m. according to the Department website. Read more
