Trevor Dickerson – Founder & Managing Editor
Trevor Dickerson, Downtown Short Pump’s founder and managing editor, was born and raised in the Short Pump area, and has always had a deep love for the community in which he lives. He’s watched Short Pump in its transformation from a rural outpost to a suburban hotspot over the past decade and has documented the history of the area at another site of his, shortpumphistory.org, which is now incorporated into the Downtown Short Pump site, under “Short Pump History.” Trevor is currently in his second year of college at Virginia Commonwealth University and is majoring in Mass Communications.
He first had the inspiration to develop the Downtown Short Pump site when he saw that, while Short Pump was the fastest growing community in the Richmond region, there was no central location for information pertaining to both residents and visitors online or elsewhere. Trevor aimed to create a place online that served as a one stop shop of sorts where community news and information could be obtained, and community interaction was possible.
