A third Wawa store and gas station could be coming to Short Pump. The company wants to build a location on Pouncey Tract Road at the back entrance to Twin Hickory (Twin Hickory Lake Drive). The Henrico County Planning Commission is currently soliciting input from residents of the Twin Hickory and Wyndham neighborhoods on whether or not they’d like to see the 24 hour store constructed.

Local Outdoor Gear Store Closing Doors of West End Outlet Store

Charlottesville-based Blue Ridge Mountain Sports is closing its outlet store on West Broad Street at the end of the month. Ryan Baxter, a manager for the retailer, said that the lease was up at the location and that the company decided not to renew. The outlet store is having a special sale to liquidate the inventory.

A new office development may be coming to a tract of farmland on West Broad Street. Plans are in the early stages for Short Pump Professional Center, a proposed office park on West Broad Street at North Gayton Road, near Strange’s Florist & Garden Center.

Bank & Gas Station to be Demolished for New Drug Store at Broad & Pouncey Tract

The west corner of West Broad Street and Pouncey Tract Road, vacant for the past several years, is about to get new life breathed into it. A new 12,000-square-foot Walgreen’s drug store has been approved on a 1.62 acre parcel where a former Wachovia Bank and Miller’s Neighborhood Market currently stand. Both will soon be demolished.
