If technology has helped create a generation of couch potatoes, Henrico County is testing whether another kind of technology can get them moving. Henrico County Schools announced it is launching a pioneering pilot program at three county elementary schools designed to track students’ physical activity and reward them for their achievements.

A World War II veteran and recipient of the Medal of Honor, the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a member of the armed services, Barfoot not only fought for his country, but for the freedom to fly Old Glory decades later on a free-standing flagpole in his Short Pump neighborhood.

Deep Run High School to Host Original Coach and Players from T.C. Williams Titans

The Deep Run Marathon Dance student committee will be hosting a “Remember the Titans” Movie Night. Tickets are $5 per person at the door for a meet and greet with 87-year-old Coach Yoast, Petey Jones, and several other Original Titans. Light concessions will be available during the meet and greet and attendees are welcome to bring items to be autographed and take photos with the Titans.
