A locally-owned custom framing and art store has moved. West End Gallery, which called the Gayton Crossing shopping center home for the past decade, opened in the Shoppes at Westgate, near other well-known local shops Tweed and By Invitation Only, about a week and a half ago. The 2,000 square foot space faces Lauderdale Drive across from Short Pump Town Center.

Five-Alarm Delivery: Historic Firetruck Arrives as Centerpiece of New Restaurant

The centerpiece for the second Halligan Bar & Grill was put in place today, before the new restaurant opens next month in West Broad Village. The 1967 Oren fire truck, which will have a full bar around it, was donated by Old Dominion Historical Fire Society and is the same truck that owner Shawn Gregory’s father rode on as a rookie firefighter for Henrico County. Brett Scott is at it again. Two and a half years ago, Scott sold his majority ownership interest in the Richmond area all-you-can-eat CiCi’s Pizza chain. He was moments away from signing a deal to start a chain of Cheeburger Cheeburger restaurants in his native Texas when he decided he could do better on his own.

McAlister’s Deli Makes a Return to Short Pump

McAlister’s Deli has made a return to Short Pump. Owner Glenn Miller has opened a 5,000 square foot franchise in the Downtown Short Pump shopping center, ironically in the same center that a previous McAlister’s closed several years ago. The former location is now a Johnny Rockets restaurant.

Couple Bringing New Vietnamese Restaurant to Innsbrook Later This Month

A Glen Allen couple recently left their day jobs to try to their luck in the restaurant business. Dangminh Katsiff and Jack Peters are getting ready to open Pho Sai Gon, a Vietnamese restaurant near Innsbrook, next month. Katsiff and Peters leased 1,900 square feet in the Lexington Commons shopping center on West Broad Street in May, but Katsiff has been cooking up the idea for her own spot for years.
