Tuckahoe Elementary to Re-open December 13

A group of nearly 700 students have been attending Short Pump Middle School while repairs are being made to their elementary school after a fire damaged the building in November. The school is located at 701 Forest Ave. in Henrico, VA.
The fire started when a light malfunctioned and fell onto a couch. The couch caught fire, and the flames spread. Officials say the fire only burned one classroom, but the school suffered extensive smoke damage, which had to be addressed before classes could resume.
