A long-time staple of the West End dining scene is closing up shop after over 19 years in business. Shackleford’s Restaurant & Raw Bar in the Gleneagles shopping center on Ridgefield Parkway will serve its last meal next month on October 29th.
The restaurant’s president posted this message to fans on Shackleford’s Facebook page late Friday evening:
After proudly serving the Richmond community for 19 years, Shackleford’s Restaurant & Raw Bar will permanently close operations at the conclusion of business on Monday, October 29th, 2012.
This final month will provide an opportunity for all of us associated with Shackleford’s to celebrate the restaurant’s extraordinary run.
I would like to personally thank the countless patrons for your support since 1993. WOW! Almost 20 years. Your loyalty was greatly appreciated, and you will be missed by everyone involved in this business. Hopefully, you can join us during this final month.
I especially want to thank the staff and vendors for their efforts that contributed so much to our success. We have been blessed. It was a great ride.
