Henrico Police were still on the scene late Tuesday afternoon after a woman jumped from the Pouncey Tract Road bridge over Interstate 64 just before 2:00 p.m.
The unidentified woman is facing life-threatening injuries after leaping from the 35-foot overpass. She fell into the eastbound lanes of Interstate 64, but was not struck by any vehicles.
A Goochland County Sherif passing through the area stopped to help the woman, who was taken to VCU Medical Center.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether the jump was a suicide attempt.
